I agree to help environmental refugees such as
vincente with national taxes. First, the cause of environmental problems such as
global warming is not the refugees but the ordinary people. Handwerk(2004)
states that “Human activities, burning fossil fuels and clearning forests, have
greatly increased concentrations by producing these gases fster than plants and
oceans can soak them up”. This demonstrates that people who want to get benefit
from damaging the environment is the main cause of sea level rise and
environmental refugee problems. Second, if the country provides basic support
for refugees to settle, they will seek jobs in that country and can generate
new taxes. Third, in the case of South Korea, many North Korean defectors are
accommodated. South Korea supports the settlement of defectors on a
humanitarian level. The North Korean defectors provide detailed information
about the North Korean society, and South Korea can review the ways to narrow
the gap between the North and South ideals so that they can prepare for
unification more easily. The world should place more emphasis on human rights.
Everyone should be given a fair opportunity and can choose where they live.
That is why I think environmental refugees should be accepted and supported by
nation.
